چکیده

Group A beta-hemolytic streptococci (GABHS) rank first among bacterial factors causing tonsillopharyngitis. These bacteria are especially common in school-age groups. The incidence increases winter and seasonal transitions. In this study, we aim to examine the presence of GABHS throat swab samples people from different age Therefore, identified reproductive frequency culture patients admitted with tonsillopharyngitis 2017 2019 then detected differences infection across groups, months, seasons. It was found that 8.1%, 52.4%, 21.5%, 11.0% isolated were groups 0-2, 3-6, 7-9, 10-14, respectively. Particularly, 3-14 group, number cases accounts for 84.9% total cases. highest rate observed children aged 3-6 years, quite high spring (34.5%) (29%). Regarding distribution factor clinics, Department Pediatrics first, Pediatric Nephrology Rheumatology second. conclusion, controlling spread infections at school is great importance as has increased over years.

The prevalence of emm types and Resistance to Erythromycin Pattern among group A Streptococci isolated from the throat in north of Iran

Abstract Background and objectives: Group A Streptococcus (GAS) strains have been identified by serologic methods based on surface protein antigens, T and M. Accordingly, different serotypes have been reported worldwide. Recently, the previous out of date procedures have been replaced by N-terminal emm gene sequence, which has been used in identifying more than 150 emm types. We aimed to determ...

Virulence potential of Group A streptococci isolated from throat cultures of children from north India

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Rheumatic fever (RF)/rheumatic heart disease (RHD) caused by Group A streptococcus (GAS) are more prevalent in north India as compared to the western world, where invasive diseases are common. This could be due to variation in the virulence of GAS in different geographic locations. Hence, we studied the virulence potential of GAS isolated from the throat of children from...

Typing Group a Hemolytic Streptococci

Two methods of typing group A hemolytic streptococci have been described: slide agglutination and anti-M precipitin tests. The first, developed by Griffith (1), is more extensively used. I t has the distinct advantages of requiring small amounts of serum and culture, and of a quick reaction time when all conditions are favorable. I t has certain disadvantages: The granular growth of some strain...

Factors Affecting the Chain Length of Group a Streptococci

Group A streptococci which grew in long chains in the presence of homologous anti-M antibody were split into their original length by the addition of an excess of homologous M protein to the culture. The chain-splitting reaction showed temperature and pH optima (37 degrees C., 7.5) and was completely inhibited at 0 degrees C. or by heat-killing the long chains at 56 degrees C. prior to the addi...

OBJECTIVES To investigate antibiotic sensitivities of Streptococcus pneumoniae, viridans streptococci, and group A hemolytic streptococci isolated from the culture materials obtained from the sinuses of patients undergoing functional endoscopic sinus surgery due to chronic sinusitis. PATIENTS AND METHODS We recruited 93 patients (63 males, 30 females; mean age 36+/-17.5; range 19 to 68 years)...
